Things to share

 Hello all,

I just have a few things to share with you today. First is this cute box I made for my niece, Mackenzie's birthday. I put a gift card inside for something a little extra. This was my first box I have ever made so it is not perfect but considering that, it came out pretty well. There is a little heart charm on the right hand side which is hard to see in the picture. I took two pictures of this to give you a little side view of the box. I was not totally pleased with my painting job. I guess I need more practice on that. Looks real good in the picture though. Doesn't it?

These are the bookmarks made for the Stitching for Literacy 2011 Bookmark Challenge. All 30 of them! How do they look Jen? I am taking them to the Penfield Public Library next week to donate to their summer reading program. I have begun collecting for next year so if anyone is interested in stitching up a bookmark to give to a child for their reading accomplishments send me an email. I have found bookmarks to be great projects to bring while waiting for appointments and things. That is probably why I was able to finish so many. It really makes me feel good to do something for other people. Especially kids. Their innocence is priceless!
One last finish to share. Finished stitching that is! It is from BBD from The Stitcher's Journey. Love this book!! Now I just have to make it into a pin cushion. It's added to my list of what needs to be finished. My list is growing! Too fast I might add! Oh well, I am sure I am not the only one with this problem of growing lists. Right?

Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!

Maureen

Your bookmarks are gorgeous! Will you be involved in the distribution? Will the library put them on display to inspire participation in their summer reading program?

What kind of box did you use for your niece's gift?

Well, I'm just full of questions, aren't I? :-)
