More Bookmarks

These are my last two bookmarks before I donate them to the library. Jen, What do you think?
My count to donate is 30 so I did reach my goal for this year. Next year I am going to increase it. My other goal was to have them done before I went on vacation in 2 weeks so I did that as well. When I get home I will be starting bookmarks for next year. I am taking a few projects on my trip and yes some of them are bookmarks because they are small and easy to work on in the car.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and I'll be back next week with an accessory update!

I was experimenting today with dyeing some pins and ric rac. It wasn't quite what I was hoping for but it will do. Only some of the pins turned out. I'll have to try it again and see what happens. I like the old look and this isn't quite the color I was looking for. It seems a little darker than the picture I was looking at. Oh, well! If at first you don't succeed, try again. That is just what I will do!!

Have a great weekend!

For the Birds

I don't have any stitching to show you but I just wanted to share what I did for the birds. Hope fully to help them build their nests. I got the idea from Karen's blog of Sew Many Ways. I had forgotten I had this suit(probably spelled wrong) holder in the garage. I filled it with orts(which I have coming out of my ears!) some of my dog's hair, sticks and grass. The stick on the bottom is for the birds to perch while they grab their stash. I hope they find it useful. It was fun and some of the little sticks are off the front lawn.Yeah!!

Later! (with some stitching I hope)

Fun Finish

Hi all,

I have to show this fun finish I did today. Party markers. You can put any initials and use any color floss that suits you. They turned out so cute and I can't wait to use them. I am starting my stitching for literacy posts this week. Be sure to check out every Friday for the next 6 weeks for my post on the blog.
Have a great week!

Bookmarks and a finish

I finished these bookmarks today for the 2011
Bookmark Challenge. Please check out I am always looking for help in making bookmarks and I collect them all year. If you can make a bookmark(or 2, or even 3 maybe) to donate to a library or school for a reading program please let me know. Every effort is very much appreciated.

I finished this oldie but goodie by Linda Stitely, I believe. Who remembers these? I don't see them too often anymore. I wish I could do more because it was such a quick stitch and a good start for my patriotic collection.Very sweet!

I will be back when I have something to show!

Happy Easter to me!

Yesterday my mom gave me an early Easter present.  The fabulous Stitchers Journey by Blackbird Designs. I loooove it!! (Of course she had ordered one for herself as well.) I love everything in it and want to stitch it all now. I definitely recommend this book for your stitching library.

Hello friends,

I stitched this design up by Lizzie Kate in honor of breast cancer. I think I will frame it in a cute little frame and put on my Lizzie Kate wall. Any other suggestions. I have lots of work in progress so  I hope to have posts more frequently in the near future. That's it for now. Have a great rest of the week. Spring is coming! I am going to put away the snowmen this week in anticipation.
