small finishes

I finished the teacher end of the year gift. Look how cute it turned out. I love the worm. This pattern came from those little doodle patterns. It comes with a cute button and then you use whatever floss and fabric you have. I took a picture of what I am putting on the back so you can see what it looks like. I have Madison write a little note to her teacher and put the year on it.
My next picture is of 3 bookmarks I stitched over the weekend. They are for next years bookmark challenge and my count is at 6. Yahoo!! I love the quick patterns like this for bookmarks. I can do different variations of the same pattern and make multiples in a short period of time.
Hope everyone has a great week and finds time to do a little stitching!

stitchy things

Hello all,

This time of year my stitching seems to slow because I have too much outside work to do. However, I do have a few small things to share. I actually found these 2 designs while sifting through some stash. I can't believe after all these years they sat there that they finally have a purpose. I made them into bookmarks to donate to next year's Stitching for Literacy Bookmark Challenge.

This next design is from Funk and Weber Designs in the Creative Gifts Calendar. The design is actually a pendant but I made it into a pin. I made a few of them as I am going to give them as gifts at an upcoming retreat. I love the colors. Thanks for the pattern Jen!
Last but not least, i just wanted to show you one of the many things I am working on. Lizzie Kate-Forgive Quickly Kiss Slowly. I love this saying and it's going pretty quickly. I think when I get to the sides it will probably go a little slower because there is a little more detail but it will be great when it is done. I am going to frame it and put it in my living room because I love the message it gives.

Well, that's it for now, Hopefully I will finish some things I have stitched to show you next week. That pile seems to be growing as well.

Happy stitching to all!!

Things to share

 Hello all,

I just have a few things to share with you today. First is this cute box I made for my niece, Mackenzie's birthday. I put a gift card inside for something a little extra. This was my first box I have ever made so it is not perfect but considering that, it came out pretty well. There is a little heart charm on the right hand side which is hard to see in the picture. I took two pictures of this to give you a little side view of the box. I was not totally pleased with my painting job. I guess I need more practice on that. Looks real good in the picture though. Doesn't it?

These are the bookmarks made for the Stitching for Literacy 2011 Bookmark Challenge. All 30 of them! How do they look Jen? I am taking them to the Penfield Public Library next week to donate to their summer reading program. I have begun collecting for next year so if anyone is interested in stitching up a bookmark to give to a child for their reading accomplishments send me an email. I have found bookmarks to be great projects to bring while waiting for appointments and things. That is probably why I was able to finish so many. It really makes me feel good to do something for other people. Especially kids. Their innocence is priceless!
One last finish to share. Finished stitching that is! It is from BBD from The Stitcher's Journey. Love this book!! Now I just have to make it into a pin cushion. It's added to my list of what needs to be finished. My list is growing! Too fast I might add! Oh well, I am sure I am not the only one with this problem of growing lists. Right?

Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!
