stash etc.

 Hello all,

Wanted to share my wonderful stash with everyone.
We went to Virginia Beach for spring break and I visited my favorite stitch shop, Dyeing to Stitch. I bought some patterns of Shepherd's Bush ( in the back that goes with the box. Can't wait to do that one.) Lizzie Kate, Blackbird, and Little House Needleworks. Also some crescent colors. Love it all! My friend, Erica, picked me up at the hotel. She lives about 50 minutes from there. We headed over and had a great time. She bought some stash as well. How can you not when you go to a fabulous shop like Dyeing to Stitch? Their retreat is in October and I can't wait for it.

This is the finished bookmark i made for my dad's birthday. Sorry the picture is sideways but you can still see how I finshed it. I took it this way to put in my book. I like how it turned out.

To end this post here is a picture of the sunrise in Virginia Beach. If you look closely (which I just noticed) you can see a tiny ship in the background. How cool that is! To me, there is something so calming about the water. One of my most favorite things. Two of my most favorite things is stitching by the water. Heaven!!

Hopefully I can do a quick post of a finish on Thursday.

Happy Stitching!!

Birthday stitch and orts

 Hello,

I wanted to share with you the boomark I stitched for my Dad for his 70th Birthday which is on April 29th.  I am going to put a made with love charm at the top and I just have to find fabric for the back. It should be an easy finish. It stitched up pretty quick. I hope he likes it!

Next up is this small ort jar I stitched up and finished
Each month I plan on putting my orts in here.
The picture didn't come out to well of the trim. I actually dyed some ric rac and put a button on the front. i know it is hard to see. Maybe I'll take another picture later of that. The next picture you can see I actually stitched some orts to the top. I thought that turned out pretty cute.
Lastly, I am showing you my large ort jar. This is where they all get dumped. I'll use more for the birds next spring for their nests. In the meantime, I like to look at all the differnt colors I have used for various projects.
Anyone notice the Dyeing to Stitch bag in the background. Projects are packed in it for my trip. I plan on visiting Dyeing to Stitch in my travels. It is one of my favorite shops. How would I be able to live with myself if I didn't? The horror of such a thought!!
I should have stitching to show you when I get back from a well deserved vacation. Till then I hope everyone has a good week and that the weather starts warming up for everyone to enjoy the outdoors.

Happy Spring Stitching!

Favorite light and WIP

 Hello all,

I don't have anything finished to show today, but I did want to share my fabulous stitching light with you. I absolutely love it! It was given to be by my parents for my birthday in Jan. It helps me stitch so much faster. Although, I haven't made much progress on the project in the picture. Hopefully, I can continue that when I get back from vacation. The project shown is Seaside Retreat by Blackbird Designs. It is now in The Stitcher's Journey but I received it at the fabulous Dyeing to Stitch retreat which I attended in 2009. The next retreat is in Oct of this year and I can't wait to go.

I am also working on this Little House Needlworks
pattern. When This You See Remember Me to support breast cancer. It is such a cute pattern and it will be so nice when it is finished. It is all one color so if I can diligently work on it I am sure it will stitch up pretty quickly.
I will have a finish next week before I go on vacation.

Have a great weekend and remember to get some stitching in!
